Rest in peace, Michael.
August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009
He used to be a living legend, now he's just a legend.
Huh. I didn't expect this at all.
He certainly was one of the greatest musicians, songwriters, performers and PEOPLE in the whole world. I will always respect him very much and I'm glad I got to live at the same time with this legend.
I just gotta say... YEEEEEAAAHH!! On Friday I was so sad and angry and desperate because I
didn't succeed with my playing (guitar is the instrument that I'm
talking about) and I seriously though about quitting, but yesterday and
earlier today I decided to practice, not very hard, though. A moment
ago I tried to play the solo of Back to the Cave and a part
that I hadn't gotten right before, but though I hadn't even played the
whole song in ages, I got that part right. You can't imagine how I
felt: I was and am sure it was a sign for making the right decision,
which was to continue practising.
And why I'm so crazy about this is
because to me playing the guitar doesn't mean that I just play the
guitar, 'cause it's fun and what I like to do, it means the world to
me. I have to become a successful artist, because I'm so ambitious. And
the reason why I'm so ambitious is that I have to show all these idiots
here that they were wrong by saying that I would never become a
rockstar. It's my dream and I will f-in' make it come true! And the
fact that they treat me like shit makes me want to try even harder.
I
know there is gonna be a whole lot of frustration and fighting against
myself before I become as good as I want to be (if there is such a
thing, I'm a perfectionist and it's never enough to be good, I gotta be
better), but what happened today showed me that's it's worth it all.
Thank you.
I apologize some possible typos, I'm so happy right now that I just don't happen to care that much.
I never thought progressive rock would sound so good to me. I never though I wouldn't ever listen to anything else except hard rock, heavy metal and rock and roll, but now I - pretty often - find myself listening to Pink Floyd or Asia. I like the emphasis of progressive rock and that it's maybe just a bit "cleaner" than those rock and metal genres I mentioned earlier - or not, I don't know. Anyway, it sounds pretty good. Songs like Only Time Will Tell and Heat of the Moment by Asia have got me carried away immediately after I gave them a listen.
What could we do to create a world with less violence?
Nowadays music has a big influence to the young, who are the only ones that can make a change. All those huge rock stars and idols should tell their fans, who adore them as they were gods, what is right and what is wrong, not too many people know it. Some of them do it already and I am so very grateful for that. However, my plan can't work, if people actually don't pay attention to the meaning of the songs.
I'm still too young and I don't have enough experience of life to do it, I don't even have fans, but after a few years I will do everything to make the world a better place to live in. That's one of those promises I don't want to and I am not going to break.
The Scorpions have many good examples for what I'm talking about. Just listen to Under the Same Sun, for example.
So... hello.
Finally I found a blog that seems to satisfy me. Usually I'm pretty choosy with everything...
I guess I could tell something about myself. I'm Lita and I come from Finland, I live in a very little village called Punkalaidun, which is in the Western Finland. And well, okay, my real name is not Lita, it's just an abridgment from my real name, but I prefer using it.
Music is my only passion. I like playing the guitar and I love listening to music, especially rock music from the 80's. My favorite band is Scorpions and I love those men and their music more than anything. I also like Dire Straits, Rainbow, Gorky Park, Van Halen and Vixen for example.
Other things I like are studying languages (especially English and German, but also Swedish and Russian at the time) and writing songs (in English). I love nights, 'cause they are full of inspiration for different kids of things. That's why I always stay awake too late.
What comes to clothing and style, I love leather pants and (short, 80's styled) leather jackets and a big hair or just a long hair is okay too. Animal design (especially leopard and zebra) in clothing is also one of my favorites.
I probably should tell something about my character too... I'm a pretty social person, though I don't talk all the time, I can also be quiet and it's nice sometimes. I like hanging out in little groups. I am a slightly empathic person and I like listening to other people's worries and some have said that it's easy to talk to me. I don't know is it true, but I try my best to be a good listener. My bad habits are getting irritated pretty easily (in some company) and then being an asshole to everyone.
If you are interested to see what do I look like, there are some pictures of me. :)
